Fuel Injection Pressure
Trensor's 3FP™ line of vehicle electronics are designed for OE Fit, Form, Function and Performance for both import and domestic vehicles. The injection control pressure (ICP) sensor monitors and relays the oil pressure inside the high pressure oil rails to on-board computers, helping to ensure smooth and proper fuel injector actuation and operation. Properly pressurized oil delivery is critical to the hydraulically activated electronically assisted unit injector (HEUI) fuel injection system, and when this system fails to operate properly the on-board computers may throw a code and illuminate a check engine light. A failing or improperly functioning injection control pressure sensor will provide erratic or inaccurate readings to on-board computers, severely affecting fuel injection performance and system function. Tell-tale signs of failing or failed injection control pressure sensor are rough idle and operation, power loss and the inability to start the vehicle in more severe cases.
